Unveiling the Azure Point Amigurumi: A Free Luxury Crochet Cat Pattern
Welcome to KROCHETA, where we elevate the art of amigurumi from simple toys to sophisticated, high-fashion fiber art. Today, we are absolutely delighted to share one of our most coveted designs: the Azure Point Siamese Cat. This exquisite piece captures the elegant silhouette and striking features of the Siamese breed, reimagined through a luxury crochet lens. This long-form article includes the complete, detailed, and surgically precise pattern below.
This isn’t just a quick project; it’s an invitation to master advanced amigurumi techniques and create a true heirloom piece. Whether you're an advanced crocheter looking to challenge your skills or a dedicated collector of fine fiber art, this Azure Point pattern is designed to impress.
Visual Analysis: The Artistry of the Azure Point
Look closely at the model in the garden setting. The Azure Point cat is a study in sophisticated contrast and meticulous detail. The color palette is understated yet striking, featuring a creamy Vanilla Bean body contrasted with a soft, Dusty Azure blue on the classic Siamese points (ears, face mask, and paws). The inner ears provide a delicate pop of Petal Pink.
What sets this pattern apart—the "Luxury" quotient—are the finer details. Notice the piercing Sapphire Blue eyes, defined by sharp black "eyeliner" stitches that add immense depth and character. The small, carefully sculpted Soft Rose nose and the delicate white thread whiskers contribute to the realism. The body features clean, dense single crochet stitches, ensuring a smooth finish, accented by a slightly textured, softer stitch definition on the fluffy chest patch. This pattern is designed to achieve that exact level of high-end finish.

Part 2: Luxury Face Sculpting (Crucial Step!)
To achieve the sophisticated look in the photo, you must sculpt the face before attaching the ears.
- Needle Sculpting: Thread a long piece of Color A yarn. Insert the needle at the bottom of the head (where the neck will attach). Bring it out at the inner corner of the left eye. Re-insert the needle one stitch below and bring it back to the bottom of the head. Pull gently to sink the eye slightly. Repeat for the inner corner of the right eye. Secure the thread. This creates the defined brow ridge seen in the model.
- Eyeliner: Using black embroidery floss, sew a sharp, defined line along the upper and outer edge of the safety eyes, giving them a distinctive cat-eye shape.
- Nose & Mouth: Using pink embroidery floss, embroider a small nose detail in the center of the blue mask, between Rounds 18 and 19. Using a single strand of black floss, stitch a simple straight vertical line down from the nose, forming a slight "Y" shape, and a very subtle curved line on either side to suggest a gentle smile.
- Whiskers: Attach three strands of white embroidery thread to each side of the muzzle, just below the mask area.
Part 3: Body & Chest Texture
The body requires structured shaping for the seated pose and a fluffy chest patch.

Part 4: Detailed Pieces & Assembly
Ears (Make 2)
Make two. Each ear consists of an outer (Blue) and inner (Pink) piece.
Outer Ear (Color B - Dusty Azure):
- R1: 4 sc in Magic Ring [4 sts]
- R2: (1 sc, inc) x 2 [6 sts]
- R3: (1 sc, inc) x 3 [9 sts]
- R4: (2 sc, inc) x 3 [12 sts]
- R5: (3 sc, inc) x 3 [15 sts]
- R6: (4 sc, inc) x 3 [18 sts]
- R7: sc in each st [18 sts]
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
Inner Ear (Color C - Petal Pink):
- R1: 4 sc in Magic Ring [4 sts]
- R2: (1 sc, inc) x 2 [6 sts]
- R3: (2 sc, inc) x 2 [8 sts]
- R4: (3 sc, inc) x 2 [10 sts]
- Fasten off.
- Assembly: Sew the Inner Ear (pink) flat to the inside of the Outer Ear (blue). Then sew the assembled ears to the head, starting at approximately Round 7, spacing them about 8 stitches apart.
Front Paws (Make 2)
The paws use a color change to create the "sock" effect.
Start with Color B (Dusty Azure).
- R1: 6 sc in Magic Ring [6 sts]
- R2: 6 inc [12 sts]
- R3-R5: sc in each st [12 sts]
- Switch to Color A (Vanilla Bean).
- R6: (4 sc, dec) x 2 [10 sts]
- R7-R16 (10 rounds): sc in each st [10 sts]
- Stuff the bottom paw section firmly, stuff the arm lightly.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail. Flatten the top and sew it closed, then sew the arms to the sides of the body just below the neck.
Seated Hind Legs (Make 2)
These legs have structured shaping to ensure the cat sits upright as seen in the garden photo.
Using Color A.
- R1: 6 sc in Magic Ring [6 sts]
- R2: 6 inc [12 sts]
- R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18 sts]
- R4-R10 (7 rounds): sc in each st [18 sts]
- Start stuffing firmly.
- R11: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12 sts]
- R12: 6 dec [6 sts]
- Fasten off, weave in tail. This creates the upper thigh. We will attach the blue "sock" section separately.
Hind Paws (Blue "Socks") (Make 2, using Color B):
- R1: 6 sc in Magic Ring [6 sts]
- R2: 6 inc [12 sts]
- R3-R6 (4 rounds): sc in each st [12 sts]
- Stuff firmly.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail. Sew this blue paw piece to the front of the bottom curve of the main body (the "Vanilla Bean" section). This creates the forward-facing paws seen in the image. The upper thigh section (made in R1-R12 above) is sewn to the side of the body, just behind the front arms, angled down to create the seated thigh bulge.
Tail
Start with Color B (Dusty Azure) for the tip point.
Using Color B.
- R1: 4 sc in Magic Ring [4 sts]
- R2: (1 sc, inc) x 2 [6 sts]
- R3: (2 sc, inc) x 2 [8 sts]
- R4: sc in each st [8 sts]
- Switch to Color A.
- R5-R20 (16 rounds): sc in each st [8 sts]
- Stuff the tail lightly as you go.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail. Sew to the back of the body for balance when seated.
Pro Assembly Guide & Finishing
- Neck Reinforcement: Before sewing the head to the body, ensure the neck is very firmly stuffed. If necessary, insert a small section of a hot glue stick (uncured) or a thick plastic wire into the neck to provide structure and prevent "wobbly head."
- Joining the Head: Position the head on the body, ensuring the face is perfectly centered with the chest patch. Use the long tail from the body to sew the head securely, going through both loops of the neck stitches.
- Symmetry: When attaching legs and ears, always pin them in place first. Check from all angles (front, top, side) to ensure perfect symmetry.
- Chest Fluff: Locate the exposed front loops (FLO) from Round 18 of the body. You can add extra fringe here or, for the look in the image, use a slicker brush to very gently tease and fluff the cotton yarn fibers in that specific area to create a soft, feathery texture.
