IV. Antlers (Make 2)
Using Mustard/Gold yarn.
These are best worked as two mirrored flat pieces for each antler, then crocheted together around the edges with a wire frame inside for stability.
Base: Chain 12. Work 10 rows of sc to create a rectangular base.
Tines: From the top edge of the base, chain 8, sc back down. Slip stitch to the next base stitch. Chain 10, sc back down. Repeat for 5–6 "fingers" of varying lengths to create the palmated look.
Assembly: Sandwich a piece of craft wire between two antler panels and sc through both layers to join.
V. Assembly
Head to Body: Sew the head to the front of the body (R1–R10 area), tilting the snout slightly downward.
Dewlap (The Bell): Crochet a small triangle (6 rows of sc, decreasing every row) and sew it under the chin.
Legs: Sew the legs to the bottom of the body, ensuring the front legs are positioned slightly under the hump.
Antlers: Secure the antlers to the top of the head, behind the eyes. Ensure the wire is anchored deep into the head stuffing to prevent sagging.
